Repton Dubai Unveils Inspirational Art Installation at World Art Dubai 2024

For the third consecutive year, students from Repton Dubai have won the World Art Dubai Future Artist prize at the annual World Art Dubai 2024, the region’s most prominent retail art fair. Repton Dubai was named the Grand Winner of the school competition in the primary category, with 362 Reptonians showcasing their creative and artistic skills with unique creations under the theme ‘Expression of Emotion’.

We’re very proud of our primary students who have once again won the top prize in the Primary category at World Art Dubai 2024. It’s wonderful for the children to have their creative skills recognized at such a renowned arts festival. We hope it inspires Reptonians to keep pushing the boundaries of their creativity.

Students from Year 2 to Year 6 at Repton Dubai delved into the realm of human feelings by creating distinctive cartoon characters on thirty 3-metre-long wooden strips. Encapsulating 800-angled cut pieces, students used black markers to craft captivating line art, demonstrating that emotions can manifest from all angles. This collaborative artwork embodied emotions experienced by young artists. After the exhibition, the eco-friendly display will be recycled, and the wood will be used for composting in the school’s garden.

Titled ‘Repton Reflection Tree,’ 357 Repton Dubai students from the senior school crafted a bold Banyan Tree art installation featuring intricate elements such as a canopy made from wire mesh, paper, and card leaves, delicate vines descending from the top, and a twisted trunk with roots to add depth and texture. Visitors were invited to write personalized messages on origami lotus flowers and place them under the tree. Each element served as a profound sanctuary for reflection, encompassing the written emotions, hopes, dreams, and concerns of the students.
